Jorge Castanheira Alves

Jorge Alves is the Partner responsible for the Sustainability & EQS area at BDO, and is also responsible for the Almada office.

He has over 27 years of professional experience in the areas of management, quality, environment and safety, having moved to BDO in May 2024 through the integration of EnviEstudos S.A., a company he founded and of which he has been a shareholder and director since 1999.

He has a degree in Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, with a specialisation in Technological Chemistry. He has a postgraduate degree in Applied Management from NOVA-SBE, a postgraduate degree in Legal-Urban and Environmental Sciences from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Management Systems and Environmental Audits in Industrial Companies. He has been an environmental consultant for engineering companies and a lecturer at the School of Tourism and Marine Technology, the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, and the Institute of Welding and Quality. He has been an auditor for several certification bodies. He is also a member of the CT 150 technical committee of the Sectoral Standardisation Body for Environmental Management (APA).
