Paula Teresa Monteiro

Paula Teresa Monteiro is an EQS Manager at BDO Enviestudos. She has over 30 years of experience in quality management, food safety, auditing, certification and management system implementation. Her responsibilities include coordinating and managing consulting and audit projects, supporting national and international organisations across a wide range of industries in regulatory compliance, risk management and continuous process improvement.

Throughout her professional career, she has held management positions in quality assurance and production within the food industry, as well as overseeing physics, chemistry and microbiology laboratories, research and development, consulting, training and project management. She has extensive experience in designing, implementing, assessing and improving management systems, with a particular focus on ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRCGS Food and Packaging Materials, IFS Food, MSC Chain of Custody, FAMI-QS and HACCP standards, among others. Her experience also encompasses coordinating audits, assessments, technical reviews and qualification processes, as well as training and developing teams, enabling her to provide comprehensive support in technically and operationally demanding environments.

She holds degrees in Food Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering and Chemical Engineering, and has completed IRCA Lead Auditor training in ISO 9001 and ISO 22000, as well as holding auditor qualifications in BRCGS, IFS and FSSC 22000. She has also undertaken advanced training in management systems and food safety and has experience as an assessor for the Portuguese Accreditation Institute (IPAC), further strengthening her expertise in quality management, auditing and certification.
