Pedro Lourinhã is a Senior Manager at BDO Portugal, working in the new AFS (Audit Financial Services) department. He has a degree in Management from ISCTE and is currently taking exams to become a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
He has consolidated experience in auditing financial institutions, with a focus on the banking sector, in both national and international contexts. Throughout his professional career, he was involved for seven years in auditing one of the largest Portuguese banks, playing a key role in coordinating teams and in the technical analysis of critical matters, including complex financial and regulatory instruments.
He has relevant experience in the application of IFRS 9, having participated in highly complex projects related to the classification and measurement of financial instruments, impairment and regulatory framework, as well as in the interaction with risk, compliance and supervision functions.
He also has significant experience in work required by banking regulators, including the assessment of the internal control environment under Notice No. 3/2020 and Notice No. 1/2022 of the Bank of Portugal, compliance with Article 306 of the CMVM Securities Code, and the validation of regulatory reports relating to the calculation of banking institutions' contributions to the Single Resolution Fund.
Throughout his career in auditing in the financial sector, he has managed and supported teams and clients in the interpretation and application of accounting and regulatory requirements in demanding and highly supervised contexts.
