Forensic Technology Services (FTS)

Our Forensic Technology Services team has extensive knowledge and experience in information technology (IT), providing technical solutions to support forensic investigations. The team participates in investigations using specialized technology, namely for the purposes of capturing, retrieving/extracting, analyzing, searching and selecting electronic data, ensuring that it is accepted in court.

Intervention by the Forensic Technology Services team may occur in the event of signs of fraud or actual fraud, as well as in cases of fraud monitoring. Our services include:

  • Collecting and preserving evidence from electronic devices
  • Analysis of electronic information, including Internet browsing, use of email and mobile phones when legally possible
  • Recovery of “deleted” information
  • Search existing and deleted documents based on keywords and/or themes
  • Backup and restore of tape file systems
  • Password recovery and decryption
  • Appear in court as experts
  • Analysis of a significant volume of data (“Big Data”) with the aim of detecting or monitoring fraud:
    • Data integrity: verifying the accuracy, validity and completeness of data
    • Data mining: identification of trends (“trends”) or data patterns
    • Data cleaning: identification of erroneous data for correction
    • Data migration: guarantee the completeness of data transfer
    • Data management: produce informative reports from multiple databases
  • E-Discovery
    • Electronic discovery, also known as e-discovery, refers to any method of searching, researching, locating and obtaining electronic data and information with the intention of using them as evidence in a legal proceeding. It can be executed offline on a single computer or on a computer network, and may require a court order for access, in order to obtain essential evidence. They may include texts, images, databases, audio files, animations, websites and computer programs.
